How many of you would like to have in your pocket

00:05
at all times? The Master Key To Influence?

00:07
Yes? Okay… So that’s what I’m going to show you how to do.

00:09
I’m going to show you how to have the Master Key to Influence,

00:12
and I’m going to show you how to overcome Procrastination

00:14
in yourself and other people.

00:15
How many of you think you know somebody has a

00:17
Procrastination problem?

00:18
know somebody that has a procrastination problem

00:19
Okay, the reason I asked the question How many of you think you

00:22
is because nobody has a procrastination problem?

00:25
Procrastination is not a problem. Procrastination is always

00:28
the symptom to a problem.

00:30
And the symptom that procrastination is a problem of

00:32
it’s the problem of anxiety. That’s the real problem.

00:35
Procrastination is the symptom and is not the problem.

00:38
And so what I’m going to do is I’m going to show you

00:39
how do you fix procrastination?

00:41
How do you get the people that you’re selling to to buy now?

00:44
How did you get your children to clean their room? Now?

00:46
How do you get your children to do their homework? Now?

00:48
How do you get the person that you’re in love with

00:50
to be in love with you now?

00:51
How do you get yourself to eat the things that are gonna serve you now?

00:54
How do you get yourself to move your body the way

00:55
that’s gonna make you strongest now?

00:57
That is a good question. It is a very good question.

01:00
And we find the answer to that

01:01
question, we will have unlocked the Master Key to Influence.

01:06
What is the Master Key To Influence? Well, it’s this.

01:08
Human beings are singularly motivated

01:10
People do things for one reason and one reason only.

01:13
people don’t have ten reasons they do things

01:14
They don’t have fifteen reasons

01:15
they do things. They don’t have five reasons they do things

01:17
People do things for one reason and one reason only,

01:19
and that is because They Feel Like It. When people who eat right,

01:23
eat right, they eat right because they feel like eating right

01:25
more they feel like eating wrong. People who exercise,

01:27
they exercise because somehow

01:29
or another, they figured out a way to make themselves exercise

01:32
Instead of making themselves not exercise,

01:34
they figured out a way to make themselves feel like doing the thing.

01:37
And if you can, and for those of you who are in business,

01:40
if you can figure out a way to create an environment that causes

01:43
other people to feel like doing business with you,

01:46
you don’t have to try so hard to get them to do business with you.

01:48
Because people do things for their own reasons and their own reasons,

01:51
not yours, not mine their own.

01:54
So how do I get to the place in

01:56
my life where I create an environment that causes

01:58
me and the people I’ve been sent to serve?

02:01
And the people I’ve been sent to serve with?

02:02
How do I create an environment that causes all of us to feel like doing

02:07
the things that are in our own best interest?

02:09
Is that a good question? Yes, or Yes? Okay.

02:11
So here’s the answer. Understand this

02:13
when, when you understand that if your attitude is right,

02:19
the facts don’t matter. So that’s the first thing you have to understand

02:22
when your attitudes, right,

02:22
the facts don’t matter. And when I say Your attitude is right,

02:24
I’m going to explain to you exactly

02:26
what I mean by that.

02:27
But this is a fact. And by the way, it doesn’t matter

02:29
what name, you give that fact, if that fact

02:31
could be bad news from the doctor,

02:33
that fact could be the loss of your job, that fact could be

02:35
the loss of a fortune in the stock market.

02:37
That fact could be having to file bankruptcy,

02:39
that fact could be whatever,

02:41
it doesn’t matter if your attitude is right, the facts don’t matter.

02:43
But here’s what happens. We observe the facts,

02:45
we either observe them through our eyes, right?

02:48
Or we observe them through our ears,

02:50
we either hear the facts, or we see the facts.

02:52
And then when we see that factor here, that fact

02:55
we put a frame around that fact.

02:57
And that frame that we put around that

02:59
fact, that frame that we put around that fact is going to be in the form of a focus in our head,

03:07
I’m going to tell you something frames create focus.

03:09
If you don’t remember anything else say tonight,

03:11
remember that frames create focus.

03:13
What does that mean that frames create focus,

03:15
the reason we put a frame around the picture

03:16
is because we want people to focus on what’s inside the frame,

03:19
everybody tracking. So what you want to do is

03:21
you want to understand that when a fact happens,

03:24
you put a frame around it. That frame has a positive side

03:28
and a negative side, because everything has a positive side

03:30
and everything has a negative side.

03:31
It’s impossible. Have you ever seen a one sided piece of bread?

03:33
Probably not? Have you ever seen a one sided coin? I don’t think so,

03:36
have you ever seen a one sided piece of paper, why not

03:38
because it cannot exist, it is impossible for

03:41
anything to exist with only one side.

03:43
So if it exists, and there’s something negative about it,

03:46
there also has to be something positive

03:48
about it at the very same time.

03:50
If there’s something in your life that’s really super positive,

03:53
that it has to have a super negative aspect at the very same time.

03:56
Why? Because there’s no such thing as a one sided anything.

04:00
Well, we put that frame around that we put that frame around it,

04:03
then that frame is going to cause us to manufacture a belief.

04:08
And that belief, that belief is going to be manifested either

04:11
as faith, or it’s gonna be manifested as doubt.

04:14
And this is the part most people don’t understand.

04:16
Most people don’t understand.

04:17
I’m gonna say it slowly because most people have never heard it before.

04:20
faith and doubt are both belief.

04:23
Most people think faith is belief and doubt is the absence of belief.

04:26
But doubt is not the absence of belief. Faith is belief in the outcome I desire

04:30
Doubt is belief in the outcome I don’t desire

04:32
When I have more belief in the outcome I

04:34
don’t desire than I do in the outcome

04:36
I do desire, I have doubt, and I don’t have faith,

04:38
but both of them are a belief.

04:41
Okay? So, So when I manufacture this belief,

04:44
if I manufacture faith because

04:45
I’m focused on the positive aspect of the fact

04:48
then that’s gonna make me happy. If I

04:49
focus on, if I focus on the negative aspect of the fact,

04:53
that’s gonna cause me to have doubt and that’s gonna make me sad.

04:56
But it wasn’t the fact that made me happy.

04:58
It wasn’t the fact that made me sad

04:59
It wasn’t the fact that you have a lot of money that makes you happy,

05:01
and it’s not the fact that you have don’t

05:03
have a lot of money that makes you sad.

05:04
It’s not the fact that you’re healthy that makes you happy,

05:06
and it’s not the fact that you’re unhealthy that makes you sad

05:09
It’s the focus on that fact that makes you happy

05:12
or sad because you all the time

05:14
and I am too are manufacturing beliefs

05:17
about the things that are going on outside of us.

05:21
And it’s not the thing that’s going on outside of us that changes the game.

05:25
It’s the things that are going on inside of us that we are doing

05:28
as a result of our perception of the things that are going on outside of us

05:32
And so we see this. We have this… We have this focus in our head

05:36
that causes us to manufacture this belief

05:38
But you know what’s really interesting about that?

05:40
Belief is a traveling salesman

05:42
It doesn’t stay in one place. So this belief travels down into our heart

05:46
and that focus on our head travels down into our heart

05:49
and it creates this thing called a feeling in our heart.

05:53
That feeling in our heart is why we do everything

05:56
Like you get up early because you feel like getting up early

05:58
Or if you don’t feel like getting up really early, guess what you do.

06:00
You sleep in. Right? And so the reality is

06:03
we have to understand that my motivation,

06:05
your motivation, the motivation of our children

06:08
our spouses, our business partners, those

06:10
people that we negotiate in business with

06:12
all of us are motivated by our feelings

06:15
And it isn’t it interesting that we say the fact,

06:18
that, that we have emotions. What is emotion?

06:21
Emotion is energy in motion. That’s what a feeling is

06:24
And the feeling is also the energy that causes you to be in motion

06:27
or the energy that inhibits you from being in motion.

06:29
So we have the focus in our head, that creates the feeling in our heart.

06:33
Well, what’s the feeling? That depends. What does it depend on?

06:36
It depends on whether I’ve

06:37
manufactured faith or whether I’ve manufactured doubt.

06:40
If I’ve manufactured faith in my head through my focus

06:42
then the feeling in my heart is going to be this

06:45
powerful thing called Anticipation

06:48
Anticipation is one of the most one of the

06:50
greatest gifts you can ever give yourself.

06:52
What is anticipation? Anticipation is the energy that

06:55
I get when the outcome I expect is desirable to me.

06:59
I’m gonna say it again really slowly. Anticipation is the energy I

07:03
get when the outcome I expect is desirable to me

07:06
So when I’m expecting a desirable outcome

07:09
it energizes me. I can’t sleep.

07:10
Do you remember when you were a little kid, and I

07:12
don’t know if you were mischievous like I was

07:14
but Christmas, before the week before Christmas

07:16
we would always sneak into my parents’ bedroom

07:18
we sneak into the basement to see if we were

07:20
getting the things we asked for.

07:21
I mean, how many y’all know what I’m talking about?

07:22
And so we snuck in there and I saw I was

07:24
getting that electric guitar that I’d been begging

07:26
for for years and all of a sudden,

07:28
know I’m gonna get that electric guitar and your parents were probably

07:30
not sadistic like mine were

07:31
but mine always made us go to bed early on Christmas Eve.

07:35
And I’m like, we can’t sleep. What do we? Go to bed.

07:37
And we’re up there. My brothers

07:38
and I and we are laughing

07:39
and talking and acting crazy

07:41
until two o’clock in the morning

07:42
because we got so much energy from our expectation

07:45
of what we were gonna receive the next day, we couldn’t sleep

07:49
And so that’s what Anticipation does.

07:50
Anticipation gives you energy to do the thing

07:55
But what if you’re focused on the negative aspect of the fact

07:59
and it causes you to manufacture a belief called doubt

08:01
Well, that’s gonna show up in the in your heart as the feeling of anxiety.

08:05
You gotta get this now. Anxiety is the thief of your dreams

08:08
The things that you desire to have that you don’t have right now

08:10
the reason you don’t have is because you’ve

08:12
manufactured more anxiety than you have anticipation

08:15
The reason the people say, no to you

08:17
when you’re making them an offer is

08:18
because you created more anxiety in them than you have anticipation

08:21
And when you learn how to create more

08:22
anticipation in people than you do anxiety

08:24
they will start saying yes instead of saying no.

08:26
And then you’ll be you’ll be blown away.

08:28
It’ll seem like it’s almost wait a minute

08:29
This is too easy. Because you started focusing

08:32
on creating an arena that causes people to feel

08:35
like saying yes to the things that you’re offering to them.

08:37
like saying yes to the things that you’re offering to them.

08:38
So so what is anxiety? If anticipation is the energy I get

08:41
when the outcome I expect is desirable to me

08:44
then anxiety is wasting present energy on a future

08:50
outcome that’s undesirable to me.

08:54
Let me say that one more time, anxiety is wasting present

08:57
energy on a future outcome that’s undesirable to me.

09:00
So what happens is, I’m expecting an outcome I don’t desire.

09:05
And so what I do because I’m expecting that outcome I don’t desire

09:08
I have a physical reaction to it in my body.

09:10
And that physical reaction feels like fear

09:13
smells like fear looks like fear

09:16
tastes like fear, but ain’t fear.

09:18
How do I know it’s not fear?

09:20
Because fear is caution over a real and present danger.

09:24
If there is no real and present danger, there can be no fear.

09:27
If I’m playing golf up in Tampa, we have alligators.

09:29
You’re probably having down here too.

09:31
If you hit your golf ball close to an alligator.

09:33
And that balls really close to the alligator.

09:35
You got to turn your back to hit that ball. I

09:37
recommend you let the alligator keep the ball

09:40
Why? that alligator represents a real and present danger.

09:45
But if I’m getting ready to make a sales call, and I think

09:49
well what if they say no, I need to make the sale.

09:52
I gotta make a sale this week. I’m about to lose my job

09:55
because I can’t meet my quota.

09:56
Well, that’s a different story. That’s not fear. That’s anxiety

09:59
because Now you’re making up a story about

10:01
the future that’s causing you to have a

10:03
feeling in the present that robs you of the energy

10:06
to do the very thing that would

10:07
keep that negative thing from happening.

10:11
Have you ever heard somebody say worrying

10:12
about something makes it happen?

10:14
Well, that’s why when you’re worried about something,

10:16
worry, anxiety, same thing, different words,

10:18
when you’re worried about something that worry causes you

10:22
to robs you of the energy to take the action that

10:25
could keep the bad thing from happening.

10:27
So anxiety is wasting present energy

10:30
on a future outcome that is undesirable to you,

10:33
I recommend that you not do that. So Myron how do people say,

10:35
I’ve got a procrastination problem. No, you’re just expecting

10:37
the thing, you’re procrastinating

10:39
not to do the thing you’d like it to do. And so therefore

10:41
you don’t do it. If you can paint a clearer and mental picture

10:44
of the outcome, you desire as a direct result of

10:47
the thing that you need to do,

10:49
if you can see that as the ultimate outcome, and then it’s going to happen.

10:53
And if you could get yourself in your heart of hearts to believe that

10:55
you would take every action in that direction.

10:57
There’s no such thing as an author with writer’s block,

11:00
there’s just an author who expects the book not to sell.

11:03
If you thought you’re gonna sell a million copies next week,

11:05
you get that book done tonight, see, it doesn’t matter what we apply it to,

11:08
it always works. If our children believe that their life is going to get

11:12
better as a direct result of doing the thing we desire them to do,

11:15
because we had them do it for their reasons,

11:16
not ours, than cleaning your rooms easy.

11:19
All you got it, all you have to do is

11:21
give them a reason that makes sense to them,

11:23
and causes them to feel like doing it,

11:25
y’all track it. So what happens is we get to focus in our head,

11:28
that focus in our head creates a feeling in our heart,

11:30
when the feeling in our heart is anticipation that energizes us

11:33
when the feeling our heart is anxiety, it robs us of the energy to do the thing.

11:37
And then lastly, the feeling in our heart then moves out to our hands.

11:45
And the feeling in our head, the feeling in our heart

11:48
creates a function in our hands.

11:53
And that function in our hands when we

11:55
focus on the outcome we desire. And we have faith

11:58
that gives us anticipation. That’s the energy.

12:00
The function in our hand is called power.

12:03
Not only do we have the energy and the power to do the thing,

12:06
it is impossible for us not to do the thing.

12:08
When we have anticipation, we get a really,

12:10
really bad case of the I can’t help it.

12:12
How many of y’all ever had a bad case of the I can’t.

12:14
help it? And so what happens is, I’ve now got this

12:17
I’ve got I’m looking at this fact, I’m focused on a

12:19
positive aspect of the fact

12:20
I’m manufacturing faith, it’s traveling down into

12:22
my heart and building up all this anticipation.

12:24
And now I can’t do anything but the work that’s in front of me,

12:27
I’m not going to distract myself by watching a

12:30
football game, or game or a basketball game,

12:32
I’m not going to anesthetize myself watching

12:34
other people on the electronic income reducer l

12:36
ive their dreams while I’m living a nightmare.

12:37
What I’m going to do instead is I’m going to go to

12:39
work on the thing that’s work for me.

12:41
and I know it’s going to work because I’m gonna make it work.

12:43
And then lastly, if the feeling in our heart is anxiety,

12:48
then the function in our hand is powerlessness.

12:51
And what happens when we live a life of powerlessness is every

12:54
obstacle we face, we see it as bigger than us.

12:56
Every obstacle we face. We see it as larger than us.

12:59
Everything that comes our way. We think it’s bigger than us.

13:02
It’s better than us. It’s stronger than us. It’s more powerful than us.

13:05
And it has the ability to take anything that we desire away.

13:08
But when we realize the power that we have,

13:12
when we Master The Master Key of Influence,

13:16
it gives us the ability to overcome procrastination

13:19
in ourselves and others.

13:21
And no, we’ll turn to Yes. And maybe we’ll turn to absolutely.

13:26
And I’ll think about it turns to where do I sign?

13:29
Because you have figured out how to

13:31
create environments that cause people to feel

13:34
like doing the things that are in their own best interest.

13:36
That’s the Master Key To Influence. I’m Myron Goldman.

13:38
It’s been a pleasure talking to you
