The Importance of Google Reviews for SEO
One of the things that I’ve done videos on this before, but if you are a brick and mortar business, and you’ve got an actual physical location or a GMB or GBP, whatever they’re calling it, Google My Business Place, and they can find you on the maps, here is, I kid you not, one of the best SEO secrets so you can get found more and get more business is that get your Google reviews up. And you need to have a system for it. You need to be like McDonald’s. You need to say, “Do you want fries with that,” with every single client you have.
How to Ask for Reviews Effectively
And then, if you have your link-up, say, “Would you mind giving us a review?” Now, on the terms of service, you can’t give them any types of rewards or tell ’em to give me only a five-star review, I’ll give you $100. Not that that doesn’t go on, but if you just ask your customers right when they’re most happy.
So, you just gave them a good project and everything’s going on great, that’s when you hit ’em up, and you ask ’em for a Google review, and if you have the link ready to go.
Responding to Reviews
And then the other big thing is to get to rank is as soon as they put the review up, the quicker, if you can get to it in five minutes to an hour, and thank them, and mention what they say in there, whether you get a, I don’t know what, HVAC job, or you did an accounting job, or you’re an attorney, or whatever make sure you mention those keywords in there. Don’t stuff it, but mention what they’re doing. Say their name and say thank you.
Handling Negative Reviews
And especially too, if you get a bad review, go after ’em. Don’t let ’em say that stuff. Try and take care of it. Take the high road on ’em. And if they’re just ding-dongs, I know we’ve had a bunch of them do it where they were just employee got fired for doing some really bad stuff, and they got five of their friends to put one-star reviews. You can get those taken off, believe it or not.
