Beat Your Competition The Strategy to Dominate Your Market

Beating the Competition

One of the things that people always ask me, what can we do to beat our competition or dominate ’em? The first thing that they already did is they asked the question on how to do it.

Most people don’t even put any thought into it, and I usually spend my Sundays like I’m doing right now, I’m doing videos, getting my thoughts together for our clients. Going back and looking at all, I don’t know, thousands of questions that we had, and trying to put a cognitive answer that actually makes sense that can help people.

So, you just need to do the same for your business too.

Providing Value Through Information

Are you putting out information that is really going to help people that are trying to figure out if they want to use your service at all. Is it going to help ’em without you making any money off of it?

And the information that, I heard this from a friend of mine, one of two guys, I don’t remember the name, which one did it, but he said that, well a couple people. If the information you’re putting out isn’t good enough to charge someone for, then you probably shouldn’t be putting it out there for free anyway. Okay.

The Importance of Quality Content

That’s a really nice tidbit and a lot of people put out fluff stuff. It doesn’t really help ’em. But if I can help you point out your problem, describe your problem better than you can, people will automatically psychologically think I have the answer, which I do. But just getting to that point will get them to believe in you, know, like, and trust you.

And videos are the easiest way to do it. I swear to Bob, they’re easy to do, easy not to do, as Jim Rohn always said.

Leveraging Experience and Knowledge

But you just have to get up, and if you’ve been in business for, you know, 30 or 40 years like I have, then if you don’t have something in your quiver, then there’s probably something wrong. But even if you think you don’t, you do. Okay. And it’s typically the stuff that you and I in our own businesses take for granted that we think that other people do.

Common Business Misconceptions

And I have to constantly ward myself against that because it’s like, of course everybody knows that they have to have alt tags on all their pictures. Of course, everybody knows that when their mobile site speed is up in the nineties or at a hundred, you’re going to get 50% to 100% more people on your website. And they don’t. Of course, everybody knows that their site has to be ADA compliant or they can get nailed for $30,000 or $40,000 or whatever it is. Of course, all their SEO has to be, should be at 100%. Of course they, you know, and it just goes down the line, but people don’t. They don’t know those things that you take for granted every day, no matter what business you are in.

Engaging with Your Audience

And the better you can inform them about those things, sit down, think what it was like when you were first getting going, or have a look at the questions that you’re getting from your potential clients. Or if nothing else, go to ChatGPT or look at the Google search, type in something. It’ll give you five or six suggestions. Those are starting off the cuff. Those are what people are actually searching for in your business.

So anyway, I hope this helps. If you got any comments, questions, suggestions, give me a holler. This is
